15-year-old yoga-nuts Colleen Collette and Colleen McKenzie love their smart phones and hate their after school job at Manitoban convenience store Eh-2-Zed. But when an ancient evil rises from beneath Canada’s crust and threatens their big invitation to a Grade 12 party, the Colleens join forces with the legendary man-hunter from Montreal named Guy Lapointe to fight for their lives with all seven Chakras, one Warrior Pose at a time.

“Save My Soul” is about addiction. Of all kinds. I wanted to convey the feeling of powerlessness I've felt in my life in an uncomplicated way and show a range of what it might look like for others who've been there. Working with one of my best friends, Zelda Williams (director of SMS), was a highlight of my 2015. We'd been talking about working together for like 10 years! Because of the content of the song and the way it touched us both, “Save My Soul” felt like the natural place for us to finally collaborate. A group of us young, crazy, creatives drove out to the magical desert of Joshua Tree and got naked - most of us emotionally, and a few literally. It was a safe space to be vulnerable and free from judgment and the need to be/ look/ act "perfect". Everyone who participated connected to the song and brought their truth to the table. We filmed this video about a month before my father lost his decades long battle with addiction. His death honestly felt like it came out of nowhere…and yet I had been mourning him for years…if that makes any sense. I know all too well from seeing it around me that the fight is not easy. It's every day. All consuming. I'm not mad at my dad. I love him and I'm sad. He is my greatest heartbreak. This song, which had always been personal to me, takes on even deeper meaning now. "I try to run but it hurts every time I try... Lord I try and I can't say no." Makes me think of the universal struggle of seeking victory over the feeling of powerlessness to a situation, a lover, a drug. Losing my father at the end of last year and knowing the propensity for addiction of all kinds that runs deep in my blood from both sides makes it next-level important for me to LIVE - not just be alive, but THRIVE in his honor. I can do this. And so can you. If you're struggling, believe the only way OUT is THROUGH. Keep going. Love, Jo. P.S. Dear Readers,   

As part of my work with UN Women, I have started reading as many books and essays about equality as I can get my hands on. There is so much amazing stuff out there! Funny, inspiring, sad, thought-provoking, empowering! I’ve been discovering so much that, at times, I’ve felt like my head was about to explode… I decided to start a Feminist book club, as I want to share what I’m learning and hear your thoughts too.  

The plan is to select and read a book every month, then discuss the work during the month’s last week (to give everyone time to read it!). I will post some questions/quotes to get things started, but I would love for this to grow into an open discussion with and between you all. Whenever possible I hope to have the author, or another prominent voice on the subject, join the conversation.

Some weeks ago I showed you the first trailer for "The Jungle Book" and now I found the first official poster. What do you think about it? :D

Who loved "101 Dalmatians"? Well, I know I did, but I always hated when Cruella was in the scene wanting to capture the dalmatians. Disney has a thing now: is re-making the old, classic movies in a modern way with... top celebs. Let's not forget about Angelina Jolie as Maleficent, Cate Blanchett as The Evil Stepmother, and Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter, to name a few. Now, as the "101 Dalmatians" is on process of being remaked, Emma Stone is "in talks" with producers to take on the role. She could make a perfect de Vil, or not! I am so curious about the plot and how she will look like! Who's excited too? :>

If we're talking about Disney, let's see the first footage from their new movie, "Moana":

Hmm, sounds good. Is like "The Croods" somehow - I liked those characters. You know, you're never too old for Disney movies!

Officially, Anna Kendrick is a troll! Well, not literally... Anna lends her voice to the role of Poppy, an adorable pink troll. She’ll likely be singing, too, since Trolls has a cast of vocally-talented actors and musicians like Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani, and Russell Brand. The movie will come up in Novembre, but one thing’s for sure: this soundtrack will be awesome!

I'm done with Disney movies and I'm really serious now when I say that this trailer is giving me goosebumps! Take a "Pretty Little Liars" star and a "How to get away with murder" one. Take a little piece from both shows and mix it together. Yep, that's how I describe "Ratter". And you better mark the date in the calendar because this movie is a must see!

It's that time on a century when we're making remakes! Now "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" has one too! With Victoria Justice, Ryan McCartan, Reeve Carney and Staz Nair on the main roles. 

"The Rocky Horror Picture Show" follows sweethearts Janet Weiss (Justice) and Brad Majors (McCartan), played in the movie by Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick, who stumble upon the bizarre abode of Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s (Cox), a sexually ambiguous, flirtatious alien mad scientist. He is holding an annual Transylvanian science convention to showcase the birth of “Rocky Horror” – a fit, attractive man (Nair) created solely to fulfill Frank’s desires. Carney will play Riff Raff, one of Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s loyal servants. Lou Adler, Gail Berman and Kenny Ortega are executive producing.

You know, as a blogger is my duty to watch a lot of tv shows, you know?! And one of the most amazing-exciting-fuking-awesome is "Scream" from MTV. As a remake - or not -, this show is so intense and so twisted and oh, you should watch it because soon enough we'll have the second season on air! Mark your calendars for April 20, 2016 for the return of all the Lakewood teens. I don't want any spoilers about season 2, but I think that it will be so much more than the first one :D

Anndd, the second tv show I'm so excited about is... *drums* ... "OUTLANDER" !!! This show is everything! If you like all those old and GoT-ish things, then you should watch "Outlander". If you don't know what "Outlander" is then go and do some research, buddy! Season 2 will be back in April and I can't wait! Maybe till then I'll read the first book o.O
