Interview with Nely Cab!

by - octombrie 21, 2014

NELY CAB was born on December 9, 1974, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She has lived and resided in a small, quiet South Texas town most of her life. Putting her Computer Accounting skills to use, Nely worked in banking for several years. In 2001, the author relocated to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, where she dedicated time to the study of culinary arts and the art of oil painting. After her return to the U.S., Nely resumed her employment in banking and later transitioned to the field of Social Work.

Today, Nely Cab writes from the comfort of her home, where she lives with her husband and son. Her life goal is to check-off Bucket List Item No. 95,623,351: To Conquer the World. While she aspires world domination, Nely continues to work on her debut series Creatura.

DHW: Tell us something about yourself.

N: I’m addicted to perfume, coffee, and sweets. I like making crafts, painting and drawing.

DHW: If you could be a character from your book ("Creatura") who would you be and why?

N: I would be Nyx because she knows things and knows how to keep secrets. ;)

DHW: You wanted to become an author since you were a kid?

N: Not really. I did send in a manuscript to a publisher when I was about 10 years old, and it was rejected. I thought that one day, when I was older, maybe I should publish a book. But I didn’t think much about it after that.

DHW: We know that you made the cover of your book (Creatura). You made that drawing special for the book?

N: Yes I did. I really enjoy drawing and I thought that the tree had a mystical element to it, like Isis’s dreams.

DHW:  Now you are a writer, but if you could choose another job what would you pick?

N: Chef. I love food!

DHW:  What is your favorite book? And author?

N: I have many favorites, but I will name a few… Aimee Carter’s The Goddess Test Series, Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me Series, Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games Series, and last, but not least, Twilight by Stephenie Meyers.

DHW: What are you doing when you're not writing, in your free time?

N: Everything from housework, to promoting my book, to running errands, being a mom, exercising, and of course, day dreaming.

DHW: Now, are you working on a new book? Can you tell us something about it?

N: Yes, I am working on the 3rd and final installment of The Creatura Series. It will hopefully be out in May 2015 in the U.S.

DHW: In Romania, the other books from 'The Creatura Series' weren't published yet. Do you know if they will be published soon?

N: Not to my knowledge. Sorry!

DHW:  We are curious: what actors did you see in the roles of main characters?

N: For Isis, I would cast Sarah Hyland, though my first choice was Lily Collins. For David… I have no idea. I have yet to find an actor that fits what he looks like in my head.

DHW:  What do you think about ROMANIA? Or about our blog? A message for our followers and your Romanian fans?

N: I think Romania has a lot of culture, tons of rich history, and beautiful people. I especially love that the bloggers are so committed to their blogs, like you are to your blog, and that you read as if it’s as much a necessity as air is to breathe. And for those of you Romanian readers and bloggers, I want to say that I thank you so much for embracing my story, and for supporting me throughout my journey as a writer. xo!

Thank you, again, Nely!

Hope you liked it guys!

xoxo
