Weekly update #7

by - septembrie 06, 2015

Hello, amigos!

This week we have a lot of trailers and movie news, but I'll quickly start with some new music videos and news :)

I told you last week about Justin's new song "What do you mean?" and now I remind you of it because we have a music video. I like how it was filmed and I like Justin's "character" - good guy-slash-bad boy. Again, I'm not a fan, but his latest songs are so damn catchy!

Another music video that I like - alongside all her music video recently - is Taylor's "Wildest Dreams". I don't know what to say about the song - maybe too slow or too chill for the lyrics. Still love the wild... animals ;)

Talking about something wild - one word: Miley! Yeah, that Miley. She released a new hole album and you can listen to it here. I don't think it's her greatest album from all the times, but sone songs are good. For a soundtrack. Or for a colab with Lana Del Rey or Charlie XCX. And more are just stupid. I'm not a musician, but she better kept a few songs and made an EP instead. What do you think about her new album? Would you put it on repet?

Moving a little bit on the movie part, Katy Perry is releasing a "Prism" concert film. I'm not into this kind of movie-concert-biography, but just take a look at the playlist:

"Roar"
"Part of Me"
"Wide Awake"
"This Moment" / "Love Me"
"Dark Horse"
"E.T."
"Legendary Lovers"
"I Kissed a Girl"
"Hot N Cold"
"International Smile"
"By the Grace of God"
"The One That Got Away" / "Thinking of You"
"Unconditionally"
"Walking on Air"
"It Takes Two"
"This Is How We Do" / "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)"
"Teenage Dream"
"California Gurls"
"Birthday"
"Firework"

I don't know about you, but I found some of my faves up there. The megastar is releasing a concert film, "The Prismatic World Tour Live", that’s the culmination of almost 151 gigs during 18 months on the road on her "Prism" tour. It’ll be available on DVD, Blu-Ray, and digital download on October 30th, and there’s been speculation that it’s the final hurrah of Perry’s "Prism" era before her next album drops in 2016. That sounds good to me!

I've told you a long time ago that Chloe Moretz will play in "Neighbors 2" alongside Zac Efron. Well, it seems like another Disney star will join them. Selena Gomez was spotted taking photos with fans on the set and props lead us to believe that she is playing what could be the ultimate sorority girl. Well I don't know if this is for sure, but I'd love to see Selena play with Chloe and Zac :)

Everyone heard about "The catcher in the rye" or maybe you'll read it. J.D. Salinger was so protective of his work that he often expressed interest in playing Holden Caulfield, his misfit protagonist, himself. A film version of everyone's favorite phony teenager never made it to the big screen, though there have been literary adaptations and one very buzzy (and slightly controversial) documentary about Salinger in recent years.

Well some big news here! Nicholas Hoult will be bringing not Holden, but his creator, to the screen. "Rebel in the Rye" will explore Salinger's life and everything that led up to writing the story of a teenager who leaves his boarding school early, only to drift around New York City for a few days. Brush off your old copy of "Catcher in the Rye" now; the film will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival later this year!

In might be 2015, but gender inequality and women’s rights are still topics we grapple with on a daily basis, so a drama like “Suffragette,” about the women’s rights groups who fought for equality in early 20th century Britain, sadly seems more relevant than ever. Here's the synopsis:
The stirring story centers on Maud (played by Carey Mulligan), a working wife and mother whose life is forever changed when she is secretly recruited to join the U.K.’s growing suffragette movement. Galvanized by the outlaw fugitive Emmeline Pankhurst (Meryl Streep), Maud becomes an activist for the cause alongside women from all walks of life. When increasingly aggressive police action forces Maud and her dedicated fellow suffragettes underground, they engage in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with the authorities, who are shocked as the women’s civil disobedience escalates and sparks debate across the nation. Inspired by true events, SUFFRAGETTE is a moving drama exploring the passion and heartbreak of those who risked all they had for women’s right to vote – their jobs, their homes, their children, and even their lives.
‘Suffragette” opens October 23rd in New York and Los Angeles, and will expand nationwide in the following weeks. Till then, check out the trailer below. I think it's a powerful movie and in any possible way, you need to watch it!

Now we are slowly moving to the movie adaption part which I think it's the most exciting thing in this post ^^"

We all love Chloe, especially now when she's on the big screan more than ever. Like "If I stay", "Neighbors 2" and now "The Fifth Wave". This is one of those movie adaption who will be "the next thing" after "The Hunger Games" will close its doors. This is a dystoipic movie with aliens and good looking boys and special effects and a bunch of intense things. The trailer and the poster were released and DAMN! can I watch it now? Like, the hole movie?! I didn't read the book yet, but I promise I'll do before I watch the movie *-*

This movie adaption is a little bit unusual. I say that because I didn't heard about the book, but after I read the synopsis I wish I did!
When the creator of a popular video game system dies, a virtual contest is created to compete for his billions. A contest users are willing to kill to win.
I know it isn't much, but it was enough for me :)) A video game. A bunch of gamers. An a hole new whorld! Sounds more like "Endgame" to me ^^" Anyways... Director Steven Spielberg and casting director Ellen Lewis are putting shortlists together for the major characters, and The Wrap has learned which three actresses top the list for the role of Art3mis.

Elle Fanning (17), Olivia Cooke (21) and Lola Kirke (24) will all be testing for the part soon, along with two other unnamed actresses.

Ready Player One girls

One gripe "Ready Player One" fans might have about the above choices is that Art3mis is described in the novel as “rubenesque,” actually standing out against most other female avatars (that all look like skinny models). ‘Ready Player One’ hits cinemas on December 15, 2017 and I am more curious than ever *.*

Now just take a moment if you are a John Green fan. This is the most frustrating... or not... thing about "Looking for Alaska" movie adaption. I'm not even talking about the actors chosen for the main characters - you'll find them here and here - which speaking about, I'm not so proud! But somehow these are good news. The book to film adaptation of "Looking For Alaska" won’t begin filming until early next year in light of recent casting disagreements between members of the production team. They don't have the main character: Alaska Young so the plans to film the adaption this fall in Michigan just turned to dusk.

The movie hinges on whether the audiences connects with the Alaska character and the filmmakers wanted to make sure they took the film to find the right actress rather than rush a decision to make a fall start date,” The Wrap says. “Paramount, director Rebecca Thomas and producer Wyck Godfrey will go back to the drawing board after being unable to agree on a choice.

The two frontrunners for the role of Alaska were reportedly Anya Taylor-Joy and Autry Haydon-Wilson, but Paramount may reboot the search now that they have more time. The Wrap thinks they may try to go for a “more established actress” now that they have a few extra months to decide.

The delay in production means that the actors who they selected to play Miles and Colonel — reportedly Charlie Rowe and Logan Miller — may not be available for the January 2016 shoot. In other words, it’s possible the two lead male roles may be recast.

Ugh, such a mess! Somehow, Wyck Godfrey and Paramount are still hoping to get the film in theaters sometime in 2016. If so, there will be 2 John Green movies next year. "Let it snow" will hit the cinemas in Decembre, 2016 (I talked about it here). I hope there will be some kind of John Green marathon: one movie per year. We started back in 2014 with "The fault in our stars", then now, in 2015, with "Paper towns" and next year in 2016 with "Let it snow". I somehow hope that "Alaska" will hit theatres on the beginning of 2017. "Will Grayson, Will Grayson" and "19K" - I'm waiting for you!

Just breath and take a little break because Ansel is "a rookie CIA agent". Yes, the TFIOS star who signed up for all four "Divergent" films and the upcoming thriller, "Baby Driver" [The film tells the story of a talented, young getaway driver—that'd be Ansel, FYI—who relies on his personal soundtrack to help him be the best in his field. But it's not all smooth sailing. The law-breaking daredevil quickly finds himself coerced into working for a crime boss and is forced to face the music (ha!) when his life, love, and freedom are threatened.] will play the good guy in "Code Name Veil", a CIA drama set in Lebanon in the 1980s. The film is based on real events, and follows the events that occurred after a 1983 attack on a U.S. embassy in Beirut. When the marine barracks are bombed, it's up to Ansel to rescue the station cheif. A dramatic retelling of historical events is something new for the actor, but not imposible ;)

And for the end of this week's update, I prepared for you some tv shows - well there are 2. Which I'm obsessed with. And maybe you'll pass this part ^^" But I'll appreciate if you pretend you care about my craziness :D

If you love A) "American Horror Story" or B) "Screm" (the tv show) or C) "Scream" (the movie, this time) or D) just like any of these females you'll totally love "Scream Queens". From the AHS producers, "Scream Queens" has everything we love - or we will - and came with another trailer - bigger this time and more... exciting?

<<The show will revolve around a sorority called Kappa Kappa Tau, with Emma Roberts playing Chanel Oberlin, the group’s HBIC. (She even has her own squad of Chanels — think of the Plastics, but scarier.) Scream Queens seems like a strange, entertaining combo of both of Ryan Murphy’s best-known shows, "American Horror Story" and "Glee", with a mix of jump-scares, disturbing imagery, pop-culture sendups (mostly of horror movies, in this case), and typical adolescent angst and sass.>> - Teen Vogue

I couldn't say it any better! Murphy himself has said of Scream Queens, “It’s very much like Ten Little Indians. There’s a real tune-in factor because it’s like, Who’s going to be picked off this week? And also who is the killer? Every episode, you get clues as to who the killer is going to be and then all of these clues accumulate.

Are you even curious? Because I'm already in love! [You can watch the other trailers here]

Aaannndd some AHS trailers too - because why the heck no! If this isn't amazing, then I don't know. This tv show is playing with my nerves and I hope it will hit my expectations!

You can watch the other AHS gossip here. Aaand a lovely pic with Lady G and her... children?!
