by - mai 13, 2014

Actress Mae Whitman has been cast as Bianca in CBS Films’ adaptation of coming-of-age novel by Kody Keplinger. Bianca is a 17-year-old girl who is not only navigating the world of high school, but has been humiliatingly branded as the “designated ugly fat friend” in her friend group. However, she finds a way to fight off this humiliation by leading a group of DUFFs in a plan to bring down the school’s evil queen, Madison. Madison is going to be portrayed by actress Bella Thorne of Disney’s Shake it Up.

Director Ari Sandel won an Oscar in 2007 for his live-action short West Bank Story, and he will be directing The DUFF for CBS. Screenwriter Josh Cagan will be penning the script. Production is set to start in Atlanta this summer so stay tuned for more details!
