The Wrap is reporting that Game of Thrones actress Oona Chaplin will be joining the cast of The Longest Ride. Based on a book by Nicholas Sparks, The Longest Ride follows the story of a 91-year-old man named Ira after he is becomes stranded from a car crash. As the story goes on and a young couple named Luke and Sophia fall in love nearby, he begins to look back on the life he had with his deceased wife Ruth.
Chaplin will be playing a young Ruth and her character has quite the journey. Ruth survived World War II and she and Ira collected paintings together. It was also recently announced that Scott Eastwood will be joining the cast as the mysterious cowboy, Luke.
Did you know that Oona Chaplin is actually the great Charlie Chaplin’s granddaughter? She is mainly known for her character Talisa Maegyr on Game of Thrones, but she was also in the James Bond Quantum of Solace film. She is currently part of the BBC series The Crimson Field and recently wrapped Hoke with Paul Giamatti.
